About the Opportunity

TESC is pleased to offer a Business Systems Analyst Intern opportunity funded through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) – Indigenous Workforce Development Program. This role is designed to support Indigenous talent who are entering the workforce or transitioning into a new career path within business systems, analytics, and technology-enabled process improvement.

This is a hands on, development focused opportunity where you will work closely with internal teams to support business systems, data analysis, reporting tools, and process improvements that support operational excellence across the organization.

Candidate Eligibility Program Requirements:

• Identify as an Indigenous person, including First Nation, Metis, or Inuit.

• Are new entrants into the work force, are transitioning to a new career, or the unemployed or underemployed who are entering a new field;

• Have not previously participated in a NOHFC-funded internship;

• Are at least 18 years of age;

• Reside, and are legally entitled to work, in Canada; and

• Once hired, must reside in the Northern Ontario community in which they are employed.

What You Will Do

As a Business Systems Analyst Intern, you will:

• Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of business systems and platforms

• Document, map, and analyze business processes, workflows, and procedures

• Assist with data migration, system testing, and remediation activities

• Analyze system process flows and help align software solutions with business needs

• Apply data modelling techniques to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies

• Design and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards

• Monitor application performance, identify potential issues, and support improvements

• Support change management activities, including user engagement, training, and ongoing system support

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure systems support business goals

What You Bring

We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to learn and grow. You bring:

• A positive attitude toward construction health & safety and continuous improvement

• A degree or diploma in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

• Knowledge of business analysis concepts and the software development lifecycle

• Strong skills in gathering, documenting, and communicating business requirements

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas; macros an asset) and experience with Power BI

• Experience or exposure to data modelling and process mapping

• Strong analytical, problem solving, and attention to detail skills

• Clear verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment

Assets (not required):

• Education or experience in accounting or finance

• Experience with financial reporting

• Exposure to Microsoft automation tools (e.g., Power Automate)
