Marketing and Communications Specialist

Full Time Permanent

Summary:

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, and working closely with the executive management team, the Marketing & Communications Specialist supports the expansion and growth of TESC by managing marketing and communications initiatives. This role is responsible for the creation and execution of internal and external marketing strategies, branding, and promotional activities. The Marketing & Communications Specialist will also oversee market research, event coordination, and social media engagement to enhance TESC’s visibility and strengthen relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities (80% of time spent):

Marketing & Communications:

  • Develop and execute marketing and communication strategies to promote TESC’s services and brand.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, advertisements, and multimedia content.
  • Manage and update website content, company intranet, press releases, internal memos, and announcements.
  • Ensure all marketing and promotional materials align with TESC’s branding and key messaging, including the TESC READY tagline.
  • Oversee social media presence, create content calendars, and manage platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Coordinate and track advertising campaigns, sponsorships, and donations, ensuring budget efficiency and ROI reporting.
  • Maintain a repository of branded templates and assets, ensuring consistent brand adherence.
  • Assist in preparing internal presentations and other communications for Senior Management.
  • Prepare public relations communications including news and media releases, speeches, and external presentations and newsletters. and work with Human Resources in developing internal communications and events.
  • Utilize Canva and other software tools for the creation of visually appealing marketing materials, social media graphics, and internal communications.
  • Working with the operations team, develop and maintain content including project histories and project team experience related to tender submissions and prequalification’s.  

Secondary Responsibilities & Duties (20% of time spent):

Event & Brand Coordination:

  • Organize, plan, and attend trade shows, industry events, employee engagement activities, and business networking functions.
  • Act as a TESC ambassador by actively participating in special events and initiatives, as well as the Swellness Committee.
  • As a member of the Swellness Committee, assist with coordinating internal social and wellness events, including Town Halls, BBQs, golf tournaments, and holiday parties.
  • Maintain and distribute branded merchandise and promotional materials.

Market Research & Reporting:

  • Gather and analyze market intelligence to support strategic business decisions.
  • Track customer satisfaction surveys and compile insights for leadership review.
  • Monitor and evaluate marketing and business development performance metrics.

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing, business development, or sales, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Canva, electronic communication tools, and social media platforms.
  • Strong creative writing, analytical, and presentation skills for various audiences.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage different assignments simultaneously.
  • Experience in coordinating corporate events and tradeshows is an asset.
  • Familiarity with graphic design concepts, creative copywriting, and marketing strategies is beneficial.
  • Must be willing to travel and work evenings/weekends for events and tradeshows.
  • Driver’s License: Must possess a valid Class G Ontario Driver's License.
