TESC was employed by Domtar to supply all labour, material, and equipment for the demolition, material supply/fabrication, and installation of the piping systems and removal of existing piping system to allow for routing of 2.5 configuration piping system at the Espanola Mill, in Espanola, Ontario.

The TESC team effectively executed the demolition, which included removal and/or temporary modifications of all existing piping, structural steel, and existing equipment required to accommodate the scope of work. The team then performed all associated structural, piping, mechanical, and engineered scaffolding installations.

Specifically, TESC was responsible for the following:

• Installation of new structural roof support and pipe support steel
• Removal of existing cladding on existing structural penthouse
• Installation of new structural penthouse
• Removal of existing redundant 24” piping system
• Installation of new 24”, 12”, and 3” diameter 316L and 317L stainless steel pulp pipe systems
• Installation of 8” stainless steel 316L flush line piping system
• Installation of instrument air piping, tubing, and solenoids for valve control

TESC completed this work during a critical mill outage as part of Domtar’s 2.5 single line configuration and modernization project. TESC worked with Domtar to complete the scope during the planned outage duration.

The project was successfully completed without injuries during the COVID-19 pandemic.
