Harte Gold Sugar Zone Mill Installation SMPEI Project

TESC was selected as the contractor for the construction of the processing systems for Harte Gold Corporation’s Sugar Zone Mill Installation SMPEI Project located in a remote area near White River, Ontario. 

‍

The project comprised the construction of the internal structural, mechanical, platework, and electrical and instrumentation for equipment/components in the mill, and installation of a crushing plant, belt feeders, conveyors, and thickener outside of the mill. Additionally, the work included constructing within a pre-engineered building with specific ties into existing columns. TESC administered all aspects of project management including planning, reporting quality management, safety management, environmental management, resource management and construction management.

The TESC Team was responsible for the following:

• Complete installation, layout and setup of Jaw Crusher, Cone Crusher, Screen Plant and several belt conveyors to the mill;
• Complete assembly of the owner supplied Ball mill and alignment of all drive components;
• Fabrication and installation of all the Mill structural steel platforms;
• Installation of Outotec supplied tanks and equipment;
• Fabrication and installation of all Mill platework;
• Installation of customer supplied water treatment plant;
• Installation of the filter press;
• Installation of the operator’s pulpit;
• Installation and alignment of all pumps and transfer equipment;
• Fabrication and installation of all HVAC components for heating, cooling and mill air exchanges;
• Layout and installation of all the Mill Power and Controls Duct banks and instrumentation;
• Installation and alignment of the gold room equipment;
• Installation of the Reagent chemical room equipment;
• Management of all ESA requirements and inspections;
• Provision of all QA/QC requirements and commissioning preparation;
• Daily coordination with all trades, subcontractors and contractors on site;
• Provision of all heavy rigging, complete with crane requirements and lift plans; and
• Provision of all Project Management, Construction Management, Supervision, Safety Personnel, QA/QC and Office support staff.

A portion of the installation works was performed during the winter months, where the TESC team demonstrated their familiarity with construction under harsh weather conditions and ensured quality standards and requirements were met. The project was completed on time and on budget with no recordable injuries. The TESC team worked diligently to adhere to all safety requirements and to realize the proposed schedule and financial plan.
