Vale Matte Sep SMPEI Phase 1

TESC Contracting Company Ltd. was engaged by SNC Lavalin to complete Phase 1 of the required facility upgrades in the Vale Matte Separation circuit to meet future product quality specifications. 

‍

The contract package included the following:

‍

• Demolition of concrete, structural steel and piping;
• Demolition and in some cases salvage for reuse of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment;
• Supply and installation of concrete, structural steel, shop fabricated miscellaneous steel platforms, piping and ducting;
• Supply and installation of mechanical, building services, electrical, instrumentation and control equipment; and
• Installation of Owner supplied equipment. More specifically, TESC performed the following electrical work for this project:
• Installation of Motor Control Centers;
• Transfer of ‘standby loads’ and ‘duty loads’;
• Cable tray installation;
• Installation of a temporary generator to facilitate power on shut downs;
• Installation of Junction Boxes; and
• Pre-commissioning before handing over to client operations to start their commissioning.

The project was successfully completed on time and on budget, with zero lost time injuries.
