NO.1 AND NO.2 FLASH FURNACE REPAIRS – COPPER CLIFF, ON
The scope of work involved the repair of No. 1 furnace, which was completed in October 2007, and the full rebuild of No. 2 furnace, which was completed in June 2009. The No. 2 furnace was torn down to its base and new brick, coolers, piping and large portions of the super structure were replaced. Despite scope changes occurring throughout the project because of the dismantling of No. 2, TESC managed to meet the tight and intense construction schedule with approximately 140 workers, while achieving zero loss time injuries. The success of this project was attributed to our firm’s ability to form strategic alliances with local companies and to supplying the resources required to meet the deliverables safely, on time and on budget.
