TESC was appointed as the General Contractor for the construction of a new office and dry facility at Tahoe Resources Inc.’s Bell Creek Mine in Timmins, Ontario. The development of the 134’ x 85’ steel building structure included backfill/compaction, slab on grade and concrete apron slab foundations, wall cladding, roof cladding, exterior main doors, windows, partition walls, block walls, ceilings, flooring, man doors, lockers, bathroom partitions and accessories, wickets, cabinets and counter tops. TESC was also responsible for the electrical and mechanical requirements associated with this construction, including the installation of a fire suppression system.
The TESC team fulfilled the client’s requirements throughout the winter months, experiencing snow and extreme cold conditions on some occasions. To align with the objectives of the company, TESC provided firm pricing, which in turn achieved cost and schedule certainty. TESC worked closely with the client from the onset to make effective and timely decisions to overcome challenges and to keep the project on track. The project was successfully completed on time and on budget with zero recordable work injuries and zero lost time injuries.
