TODAY: Protecting the Environment and Reducing Impact
TESC operates in compliance with all relevant federal, provincial, and municipal environmental legislation. We perform sustainability / impact reviews at every project outset and follow best practices for waste reduction through re-use and recycling. Likewise, TESC promotes efficient use of materials and resources and avoids the unnecessary use of hazardous materials and products, seeking substitutions wherever possible.

Every day we are asking, how can we rethink current assumptions and collaborate with partners to make sustainability inextricable from sound business decisions? This includes:
- Exploring new sustainable materials and technologies
- An evolving portfolio of Renewable Energy projects, thereby increasing our expertise
- Offering building envelopes and retrofits in lieu of teardown
- Ecological sensitivity training
Indigenous Engagement
Collaboration and community have always been in our DNA, acting as the foundation to our 3-part commitment to championing Indigenous Engagement and Equity.
Education
- We must understand the past in order to have a productive and equitable shared future. TESC encourages reflection and learning through company-wide Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training.
- TESC employees are versed in constitutional recognition and affirmation of Indigenous rights as part of the business development and project plan process.
- TESC celebrates National Day of Truth & Reconciliation and encourages observation of Indigenous cultural protocols.
Relationships
- We TESC builds collaborative relationships with Indigenous stakeholders, from clients to suppliers to local community representatives.
- We involve Indigenous communities from the initial stages of development to eliminate bias and identify which Indigenous interests may be impacted by the project. We work in concert to develop equitable executional solutions.
Opportunity
- TESC commits to using our sphere of influence to build capacity in the Indigenous business community and develop diversity within the supply chain through Indigenous owned sub-contractors and suppliers.
- We are dedicated to increasing Indigenous recruitment, training, and retention programs within TESC.
- TESC invests in community programs that support Indigenous skills development and cultural awareness.
