TESC Receives WSN Mining Sector Safety Award

On April 18 2013, TESC Mining and Tunneling Services, a subsidiary division of TESC Contracting Ltd, was presented with the “2011 WSN Mining Sector Safety Award” for the Group 6 – Mine Contractors. The WSN Mining Sector statistics are used to determine a company’s performance and figures, making a comparison to the overall results of WSIB statistics. Statistics are based on the total medical injury frequency per 200,000 work hours. During the years 2009, 2010 and 2011; TESC annually achieved no lost time injury and an amazing injury frequency of 1.8. During 2011, TESC continued to successfully maintain no lost time injury as well as a perfect record of no reportable injury and an injury frequency of 0. Jean-Pierre Petrin, Corporate Manager of Health and Safety was pleased to receive the award on behalf of TESC from Candys Ballanger-Michaud CEO of Workplace Safety North during the WSN annual Health and Safety Mining Conference held on April 16 to 18, 2013 in Sudbury.
